Second Announcement

Abstract Submission Form

Prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts of papers for presentation at technical sessions of the ISPRS 2008 Beijing Congress. All abstracts should be written in English comprising 800-1000 words. These abstracts will be reviewed for selection for oral and poster presentations (please note further details below regarding Commission III). The deadline for abstract submission is 20 October 2007. Young authors (under 35 years), who intend to apply for the 'Prizes for Best Papers by Young Authors', should submit their full papers before 31 January 2008.

Each abstract must contain sufficient details for evaluation (including the approach, results, the concepts and the reasons why it should be considered an interesting message for the audience). Author(s) must select 5-8 keywords from the list provided (see http://www.isprs.org/documents/orangebook/ISPRS_Keywords.html). Authors must indicate clearly on the Abstract Submission Form to which session the paper is intended. The presenting author (corresponding author) also must be clearly indicated. A participant may be the co-author of multiple papers, however, each author may present only one paper at the Congress, except for those authors of invited papers.

Technical Commission III of ISPRS will undertake peer review of all papers to be presented at its oral technical sessions: WgS-PS III/1~5, ThS-7 and ThS-22. Authors wishing to present papers in those sessions must submit their full papers by the deadline of 20 November 2007.

Full papers should be prepared according to the Guidelines for Authors Preparing Manuscripts for ISPRS Sponsored Meeting (http://www.isprs.org/documents/ orangebook/app5.html). Authors are requested to follow the Manual for Presentation of Technical Papers at ISPRS Congress and Symposium (http://www.isprs.org/ documents/orangebook/app6.html).

Information about the status of acceptance of the papers will be sent to the authors no later than 20 January 2008 by the Congress Secretariat. Full papers will be due on 30 April 2008. Payment of the registration fee by the presenting (corresponding) author must be made prior to the deadline, i.e. 30 April 2008. Accepted papers received from registered participants by this date will be published in the International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences.

Abstracts and full papers should be submitted online at the Congress website http://www.isprs2008-beijing.org. In case online submission is not possible, the enclosed abstract form should be used and sent to the Congress Secretariat before 20 October 2007. Authors will be informed of the acceptance of their paper by 20 January 2008. If the paper is rejected for oral presentation, it will be assigned to a poster session (PS).

Member Reports: Member reports will not be required but if Members wish to prepare and distribute a report on activities within their region at the Congress, they are encouraged to do so.
